A good midwife is not only someone who delivers a baby. She is a midwife to a woman's transformation to motherhood, and a man's transformation to fatherhood. She is midwife to all the dreams and hopes surrounding the coming to being of that child, and to the process of maturing and growth that is involved for both parents.

Meet the Midwives
Certified Professional Midwife
Mandi attended her first birth in 2003 and, fueled by her passion for the miraculous process of undisturbed, supported birth, was inspired to become a qualified doula and later a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM).
Mandi started delivering babies in 2007, during which time she apprenticed with Sr Karen Clark, Sr Marianne Littlejohn and Dr Jon Morley.
Upon completion of her apprenticeship, she travelled to the US to sit the NARM examinations, qualifying as a Certified Professional Midwife in November 2011.
Mandi worked as a post-natal nurse in the UK in 2012 and on returning home has established a co-run private practice - Eden Natural Birth.
Mandi's earlier extensive training in Aromatherapy and Reflexology has played an important role in her method of practice, with lots of lovely therapeutic massages being the order of the day.
Mandi is a home and water birth specialist, and is registered with the American Association of Paediatrics as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider, a qualification which is updated and renewed every 2 years.
She is mother to 3 children, all of whom were natural births; her last baby who weighed in at 4,72kg, was a water birth. Attended, of course by a midwife!
Student-Midwife & Placental Encapsulation Specialist
Mandy is an American student from Milwaukee, Wisconsin living and learning in South Africa as a student midwife, training under Mandi Busson's expert guidance and through the Birth Institute, a university in Colorado.
Mandy has had a passion for women's reproductive health from a young age and veiws the ancient process of giving life as one of the ulitmate expressions of woman's true power and grace. She believes that every woman deserves their right of choice in childbirth be respected and upheld throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period.
Heidi van Zyl
Heidi believes that the birth of a baby is a deeply sacred and miraculous event, filled with mystery, challenges, beauty, power, love and great joy which will affect women emotionally for as long as they live. It is divinely created to be a perfect, safe and strengthening process.
A woman is in her greatest power during childbirth, working with the co-creative forces of nature to allow the miracle of life to pass through her.
This is what she loves to help women achieve throughout their journeys through pregnancy and birth, by providing emotional, informational and physical support, as she serves them as a doula.
She has attended many home, hospital and caesarean births, including the unassisted, undisturbed HBAC of twins and an amazing, unassisted HBA5C amongst all the other miraculous births she has had the privilege to support.
Heidi qualified as a professional labour and birth doula through WOMBS in 2010 and has birthed 8 children herself, including home, hospital, caesarean, breech and twin births.
